چکیده

Abstract Purpose of Review This paper reviews various low-cost treatment techniques such as adsorption, permeable reactive barrier, and biological for the simultaneous removal chemical microbial contaminants from groundwater discusses mechanisms different techniques. also challenges treatment, how to choose appropriate technique, cost analysis treatment. Recent Findings Various technologies have been used groundwater: physical, chemical, with success rates. In literature, adsorbents successfully synthesized environmentally friendly materials. Adsorption is considered an efficient technique both toxic elements pathogens by utilizing adsorbents. For example, nanostructures MgO a BET surface area up 171 m 2 /g obtained very high adsorption capacity 29,131 mg/g fluoride ions in water, while incorporation iron activated carbon has improved its 51.3 arsenic. Moreover, certain shown capability remove 99% rotavirus adenovirus groundwater. Summary Groundwater resources are contaminated metals pathogens. Therefore, water should be evaluated their efficiency contaminants. Determination most cost-effective not easy task requires understanding aspects present reuse options considered, technique.

Removal of Basic Blue 159 from Aqueous Solution Using Banana Peel as a Low-Cost Adsorbent

In this paper, the adsorption of Basic Blue159 (BB159) onto banana peel as a low-cost material was studied. At first, the banana peel was sieved. Later, banana peel particles were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDXS) and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) techniques. Batch adsorption experiments were carried out as a fu...

Column operation studies for the removal of dyes and phenols using a low cost adsorbent

Fertilizer plant waste carbon slurry has been investigated after some processing as an adsorbent for the removal of dyes and phenols using columns. The results show that the carbonaceous adsorbent prepared from carbon slurry being porous and having appreciable surface area (380 m2/g) can remove dyes both cationic (meldola blue, methylene blue, chrysoidine G, crystal violet) as well a...

Arsenic Removal from Groundwater using Ferric

Arsenic is a carcinogenic metalloid that is currently regulated in drinking water. The levels of arsenic in finished water in an existing water treatment plant are exceeding the current regulation of 10 μg/L. One of the available technologies for arsenic removal from groundwater is adsorption onto coagulated flocs and in this field, ferric chloride is the most commonly used coagulant for arseni...

1 Arsenic removal from groundwater using iron

10 11 We demonstrate that electrocoagulation (EC) using iron electrodes can reduce arsenic 12 below 10 µg/L in synthetic Bangladesh groundwater and in real groundwater from 13 Bangladesh and Cambodia while investigating the effect of operating parameters that are 14 often overlooked, such as charge dosage rate. We measure arsenic removal performance 15 over a larger range of current density tha...
